Emperor Angel questions.

Hi guys I'm new here.
I have a juvenile Emperor Angel (had him/her for about 3 months) and she's doing great. She eats like a pig and everything. I heard that when they change to adults in captivity they might not be as colorful as in the wild. Is this true? Also is there anything I can do to make her gain those colors?
Thanks!

They look better when they are older. To help them look more brighter would be to feed them a well balenced diet. Seaweed, thing high in vitimin c I think. Also treat the food with vitamins.

So far I feed mostly Mysis shrimp, Bloodworms, and clams. I also give her dried out seaweed occasionally when I find it.
How do I soak food in vitamins?

Put the food in a dish, drench it with the vitamins, and let it sit in the fridge for a day or so before feeding.
Also remember that Pomacanthus angels REQUIRE sponge in their diet to do well, if not to survive long term. Be sure to get some frozen foods forumated specially for angels, it contains plenty of sponge for them.

Yeah I have food specifically for angels. The guy at the fish store said that would probably all she would eat!
Where would I go to get the vitamins? Any particular brand?

I have read they are bad reef inhabitants and pick at many corals and anemones.

Thanks...I have decided to go against getting one. Most of the fish I have right now are fairly small, and won't get very big...Don't need a bully coming in eating what he wants, when he wants, pushing others around. I enjoy the tranquility I have now.
Thanks again.

I love my emp. I have smaller fish with her and she doesn't bother them at all. If you get one small (around 3 inches is best) you might be able to get it to be reef compatible.

the only thing mine bothers is my raccoon butterfly fish. I think its becasue they both have rounded rear fins which makes their bodies resemble each other.
i have it in with a clarki clown, lawnmower blenny and purcupine puffer. i havent seen any real aggression from it except as mentioned above and when eating. hes a ferocious eater.

While a 100 won't hold one of these fish for the long haul, they are not fast growing fish. Buy one in the 3-5 inch range and you could keep it there for a couple of years. A tank in the range of 180 or more is better for these fish, which will hit well over a foot.

I tried doing the same thing hoping everyhting would be alright, but 4 months later I saw Him eat all my Zoos and a couple of Mushrooms. Literally He picks on everything. I feed Him Mysis, pellets, Flakes, Marine Angel, and Seaweed. He's beautiful and even eats out of my hand, but I'm currently looking to get him into a new home.

how do emperor angels do with triggers of smaller to similar size? if i got the emp i would be later putting in some trigs into a 210g. the emp at my store is about 4in. its still in juvi stage. if i got things smaller to same size how would he hold up or should i ask how would the trigs hold up?
