I recommend not getting one most enginner gobies if not all are very very shy. Well this is bad enough them being soo shy but it gets worse. Mine destroyed all my sand which is in some cases good but i wana kill it.

A buddy of mine made the mistake of coming home with two of those without doing his homework.
They were back at the LFS in record time

I had one, Thank goodness I had pvc pipe made in to squares under my rock. He made his home there, so not much sand thrown all over, They can make a mess

o but i heard they help clean the sand like shift it and everything

Not all are shy in fact ive seen alot that never hide and are always out in the open, at least half their body. Most likely u did not prepare a deep enough sand bed so it will destroy your sand.

Mine is very shy and does liek to move sand but he never hurts any corals kinda cause i plan around him. But recently ive lost 2 firefish in a week. no obvious reason happy fish one day then gone the next and ive lost other firefish in the past. same way i am wondering more and more if he is not getting an expensive lunch now and again and catching them sleeping somewhere. I"LL be in the process actually of attemtpting to catch him in a trap and take to fish store if i can. just in case he is eating fish now. but the wife is not very happy with this plan as weve had him for over two years now i think and she is attached to him
