Engineer Goby and sand ?

I've read several posts about going sandless (clean bottom) in the DT. I realize the pros and cons and still would like to try it. I have a DSB in the fuge so should be OK there. I am wondering how it will effect my engineer goby. Will removing the substrate cause him extreme stress?

Can't say I agree with going sanless, but I really don't think it should affect him too bad. If you look through the holes in my reef, there is no sand under it anyway. My goby has gotten it all out.
