Engineer Goby had babies!! i think?

So about a week ago i had just finished cycling my 20g and about 3 days ago i bought 2 engineer gobys. just the other day i noticed that one of them had a fat stomach and the other did not. tonight i just got home from work and was going to top off the tank with some R/O D/I and noticed ALOT of these things swimming around that kinda looked like tiny tadpoles...almost sperm like lol. pardon the analogy. then i noticed the one that had a fat stomach had what looked like a small pouch hanging out from her just behind her stomach! i'm no genius or goby expert but i'm pretty sure she just had babies! has anyone else had experience with this? what should i do? i feel kinda bad cuz the male has been eating a few of the babies. and i'm sure they have been getting sucked up into the filter... is there anything i can do or what?

Dude...I feel for ya but, there probably isn't anything you can do at this point.
Please correct me if I'm wrong

Dude, engineer gobies start out tiny, but they get to be HUUUUUUUUGE! Honestly you might be lucky that the daddy is eating some of them. They are hard to catch too unless you take your tank apart.

so now today i cant find the female engineer goby that just gave birth last night. i know they are burrowers, is it possible she burried herself? anyone with experience with these fish??

It could happen but i would be SHOCKED if a engineer goby gave birth 3 days after you got it in a newly cycled tank. Just doesnt seem like the normal or appropriate conditiond for reproduction.
i'd guess that she may have a stomach full of sand. They are burrowers and when in a new tank will spend day and night burrowing. To do this, they ingest sand and spit it out but they can retain some. Mine has done this a few times to the point he was so fat i was really worried. After a few days, it went away and all was normal.
By the way, 2 in a 20g will be tight. Even though they dont move around much, they get BIG. a foot or longer each! Thats alot of bioload but you have a few years before you gotta worry.
