Engineer Goby Question

I have a question about those engineer gobies. I have one that is about 5-6 inches in length, and I thought that they weren't aggressive. Well, one morning, I woke up and went down to my tank and I saw my engineer goby with one of my red firefish halfway down his throat. Is this normal?

Unless given a lot of room, I don't think that gobies like being around others of thier species.

They are mostly scavengers. Is there a chance the Firefish wasn't alive at the time?

Possibly. Maybe it just didn't survive the night.

I can't say that an Engineer didn't grab a live, but confused, Firefish and eat it. I can say that it wouldn't be normal behavior for an Engineer Goby.

I have two engineer gobies, one is about 8 inches and the other is about ten inches. Neither one has ever bothered any other fish. They both regularly eat whatever I feed the tank, flake, frozen, pellets, they even eat silversides.
