I noticed my engineer has been coming out of his rock caves a lot lately. Nothing in the tank has changed. Readings are good. He is about 5yrs old. Any ideals? I have been seeing him more in the past month than I have in the past 5 years(except his head and part of his neck when he came out to eat) He is swimming around a lot. Thanks

He must have become more comfortable with his surroundings... although 5 years is an awfully long time to become accustomed. The pair I had would always swim around in the open, until someone approached the tank. I find it more unusual that it would hide for 5 years rather than find it unusual for it to be out in the open...

he came out at times. I have just noticed him more. maybe I am looking at the tank at the right time.
