enough for mushrooms?

is an 8w t-5 over a 5g enough for only mushrooms? i know thats not much light, but the fixture is built into the hood and there really isn't room for anything other than whats in there now. doesn't look like a retro fit would be an easy option either.

Most mushroom corals do not require a lot of light. I have some growing in almost no light. I would definately give it a try since I think you will have good luck.

yeah, i prob will try it out. i've got a 5g eclipse style tank that i want to do something with. figured i'd plumb it inline with my main tank and sump to keep the water parameters stable. anyways, if you do the whole inaccurate watts per gallon deal its only 1.6 watts per gallon. however, looking at the tank with the current 8w light in there, it does put out a decent amount of light which does look like it could support mushrooms. if i do go ahead with this, ill start with shrooms then up to some other softies if the shrooms work out good.
