Enough Lighting?

I use a Aqualight Advanced Hang-On Tank Mount HQI 150W 20,000K metal halide... and was wondering if 150w 20,000k for a 30 gal extra-tall tank is enough light to hold SPS corals?

Yeah, I should but I don't think I could fit any actinics on it..moonlights yeah... unless you know of a light that I can fit with my fixture (it takes up quite a bit of the top of the tank)... take a look at the attached photos... thanks alot for the help

at least some montipora up top(light acclimate any first), i would try a monti and work from there someone with the same lights might have some better info but at least montis should be fine

I'm not asking about placement... not to sound rude but obviously i wouldn't put the coral in a dark spot... the dark spots aren't from lack of light its from the actual structure of my rock... I still respect your opinion

I can't believe the crappy advice you are getting from these people.

You have plenty of light to keep SPS and clams. The outer edges of your tank will be a little dim, so stick with lower light corals there.
Also, you do not need actinics or moonlights. What you have is perfectly fine.
If you have plenty of flow in the tank and have pristine water conditions, go out and get your first piece of SPS. I would start with a digi or monti.
Enjoy!
