epoxy versus silicone

I know people will say that you can't attach use either to connect acrylic baffles in glass tank.
However, the people at the plastics store said weldon-1001 wouldn't work, and all my Lowe's has is Loctite versions (I was told Lexan silicone in a red bottle would work).
I hear everyone saying silicone should do fine, what kind (yes I am ignorant)?
Also, could I use an epoxy for marine, it doesn't say anything about not using in aquariums and says that it can be used on wet areas.
Also, I have Weld-on 1,2, and 3 could those possibly work.

By the way I have several epoxy's at home neither says anything about not to be used with aquariums:
PC-11 Marine Epoxy (cures underwater)
LOCTITE five minute epoxy, marine grade
And also have: Professional Welder: all purpose, waterproof.

technicly you can use silicone to adhere acryllic baffels but it only has a bond strength of 5 on a scale of 1 to 10, whereas glas to glass bond is 10 on a scale of one to ten.
