The flow should be fine!!!!!! Alot depends on what your planning on keeping in the tank as well.....I would look at other options for the overflow. I was given 1 to play with and the continous syphon "claim" on the manufacturers part is a joke IMO.

I've heard good things about Lifereef, but I've always built my own just happened to get my hands on the CPR and I had seen it in action and the bubbles it would trap or get an air pocket was a joke when they claim the problem can be easily fixed.....

the overflow box i was looking at has 2 1" bulkhead fittings. would i be able to drain both into the same same refugium as i will only have one without overflowing it? how do you keep a constant level in the fuge

That sounds like the same overflow I had playing with awhile ago.....Are you running a sump/fuge combo or 2 separate units??? I had it on a quarantine tank and had it running into a Tidepool wet/dry......Again all were parts from friends getting out of the hobby.....I don't see why you would have a problem using both bulkheads to drain into the sump or fuge just you have to make sure your returning the water as fast as it's draining into the sump/fuge

You should be fine with that size overflow. It should only drain as fast as your return pump feeds the tank.
