210 gallon system (display) with 45 gallon sump
MH and VHO lighting
DSB (5 inches)
300 lbs live rock
Water drains from display, first contact chamber heaters and blue filter pads.
Next into algae chambers (chaeto).
Then large storage area for skimming(corallife super Skimmer 220), carbon filtration (2 mag 350's), into Artica 1/3 HP Titanium chiller (temp stays 77.5 to 78.5 F). Finally into return area with two quiet one 6000 pumps returning water to display.
System has stayed at zero NH3, NO2, and NO3 since it's 6 month birthday.
22 various fish, 38 coral placements, and a host of shrimps, hermits, crabs, snails, and more.
With all this my only drawbacks are Rock wall limits usage of space and coral placings. Sand bed gets grey blacl areas. And weekly raising calcium and Alk levels up.
By the way the Algae chambers do act as a refugium area ( they are always crawling with microstars and pods!)

Nothing fancy in my 150, no sterilizer, reactors etc. The fanciest thing i have is my deltec skimmer (a priority to me) I have a 25 gal sump/fuge, those are my only filtration besides LR. 2 acqua clear and 1 maxi jet PH. I have 4 T5's and 500 watts of MH,moonlights, all on timers. 2 300 watt heaters, about it :notsure:

I have a 75 gal reef ready with two 150 watt 20K metal halides and one moon light all on timers. I also have a couple of power heads in the tank for circulation. For a sump I used a 22 gal long and glued baffles in it to create separate chambers. In the sump I have a Euro-Reef skimmer, a Mag 7 as a return pump and a heater. Thats about it.

Well, I should do the KISS (Keep it Simple Stupid) method, BUT, I have gone to the dark side with equipment.
175 gallon display/ 250# live rock/ 200# live sand
Orbit 72" MH/T5 combo light
(4) maxi jet (900?) to move water in the tank
80 gallon sump/refugium
(2) ASM 4 skimmers
Red Sea phosban reactor
Coralline 250 UV light
(5) 250 watt heaters in sump
Mag 36 in sump pump to circulate water
Supplements (Calcium/Stron/Iodine) in 'IV drip' top off tank
Change 40 gallons of water every 3-4 weeks
