Hi, folks.
I've been at this forum for about 1.5 years. I've just gotten around to posting some pictures of it.
Tank several weeks ago...

Tank as of right now. I got a new Coralife Aqualight with halides and rigged it so they sit just above the canopy (since it's too small to put lights in). The canopy still hides the other equipment.

Some more shots...

My cabbage leathers and star polyps...

Now for a question. My colt coral only a few days ago and then today. I can't figure out what's wrong with it. It's shriveled up and looks like a raisin. Everything seems to be fine and my water parameters are as follows:

1.024, ph 8.2
ammonia, nitrites, phosphates and nitrates all zeros
I'm hoping he's just shedding...

he is most likely adjusting to your new lights. Might want to put a screen over that area till he gets adjusted to your new light set up.

I'm hoping that's what it is. I can put a glass top over the colt's area. I know that will reflect some of the lights. Thanks!

I had a terrible hair algae about three months ago and couldn't figure out why. My lawnmower blenny and snails just couldn't keep up. Well, I found out my RO unit filter needed to be changed. I was putting about 10 p in the tank with water changes. So, now I'm back down to zero (certainly there's still some, but the algae is using it up).
So, my tank looks so much better than about 3 months ago. However, my lawnmower and scopas tang still don't eat everything. It's actually kind of funny. The lawnmower eats all of the algae of the rocks and sides and seems to cultivate or 'trim up' the tufts of hair algae I still have. He keeps them about the same size. It's actually kind of neat to watch him.
Anyway, he's one of my favorite fish. Him and my coral beauty. I just added a flasher wrasse who is really cool (boy, was he scared the first three days). He hangs out in the front shaking his fins!
I'll try to get some pictures of the fish at some point.
Take care!

I have light blue poster board on the back. Do you mean a darker color? I'll have to look at some pictures to see. What color do you suggest?

Could this be why my colt coral is not doing well now? They are on opposite sides of the tank. By the way, I have two Emporer 400s with carbon running.
