I am looking for a good used er skimmer. I have found 2 that I am thinking about very seriously. My ? is, is there a big difference between the es, and cs? I know the main differences, just wondering on a few prices. I have found a es8-1 I can get for $310 shipped, and a es6-2 for $225 shipped, are these good prices? Or would you all recommend the cs over the es? I am also putting this in a sump on my 110g tank, which will become a 75 gallon in about a year or so. The es8 would be ba, but would the es6-2 be just as good?

not sure whats the difference between the models, besides the pump and diameter of the chamber. I have a cs8-2 for my 125g, which i only run when lights on (6 hours a day). It seems to be doing the job, since i have a good amount of softies and hard corals. not to mention ALOT of fish. i run a wet/dry filter with my euroreef, the result is very positive. water perameters are always at 0. so i assume the euroreef is doing one hell of a job! just try to buy the best that you can afford... it will payoff...

The only difference between ES and CS is the type of acrylic used. ES uses extruded acrylic and CS uses cast acrylic. The difference between the two types of acrylics in skimmers is negledgable unless you run ozone (o3 makes extruded acrylic become brittle over time).

Ok so there isn't much difference between the two and i won't be running a ozone. So what about the prices? Are those 2 prices both decent? Which would you two pick?

It depends on the size tank you are using it on and how much space you have in your sump and cabinet.

Yeah i got all that figured out, I just wanted to know on a used price if that was good for an es model.
O well I got a cs6-1 yesterday for $240. So that will do me ok

I can't believe the cost on these skimmers. I paid 330.00 for my new CS6-3 about 5 years ago, now its 478.00.. at least its holding its resale value.

I can't believe the cost myself, but from what I've read and seen of you guys tanks it is definitly worth it...
