Evaporation?

Ever since I put in a wet/dry filter my aquarium has been losing water to evaporation pretty quickly. Would it slow down if I built a plastic cover for the sump and just cut holes in it for hoses and skimmer to stick out?

You might want to purchase and install an auto top off system. There's a guy with a shop called California Reefs who builds these and sells them very cheaply. Just a thought. I've found that evaporation and salinity fluctuation are incredibly stressful on your critters.

you do not want to "slow down your evaporation" That evaporation is what help keep the tank healthy. that is how it gets the build up of gas out of the tank. Either get an auto top=off or check your sump twice a day and add as needed.
