Has anyone ever tried hyposalinity treatment? I just started couple of days ago. gettin close to 1.009 seems like it's almost fresh water. I was told that it was actually easier on the fish to run lower salanity they dont stress out as much. Infact my LFS said I could leave it there if I was not planning to have invertabrates. { Yes it's a FOWLR Not reef Yet}:scared:

Make sure you monitor your PH closely,as it can fluctuate and drop dramatically during hypo.Hyposalinity should be performed in a QT tank. The inverts{pods and other beneficial life forms}in your live rock may not survive such a low salinity.

I agree only in a QT in a main tank it should be at least 1.020 and 1.009 is really low I dont think fish would do well even in that! In my Qt I have it at 1.019
