Everything Crashed!

My whole tank is now dead. I put in a Krean Angelfish and two green chromis fish and the angelfish is already gone! Its gone! I saw it swim into some of the rocks I have in there but it never came out. I have two chromis and one is just floating around my heater and the other is sitting on the bottom of the tank. I thought these fish would be more active. Is it because my tank is not settled yet? I took the mushrooms out and the annenome coral out and threw it away. Do fish need the tank to settle down before they go in to or just fish?

Just about one week. I know I should have let it settle more but I wanted this fish and they guy said that they had another buyer coming in for it tonight so I bought it and put it in. I also bought the chromis so the angel would not be lonely. Now they are not moving much. They are just floating around like.

I'm sorry that I am not making much sense but I am upset. I meant to say in my first post that I know that corals need the tank to settle before going in but do fish need it to settle first to?

What does WOW!! mean? I need help right now. My mom will be coming home soon. I told her I would not buy anything else after my annenome coral died. I promised her and now these fish in there and I think they are dying. Should I add more salt?

Sorry as well, but boy did you jump the gun. Fish are not to put in the aquarium so soon. It needs to cycle first, if I were you I would take those fish back asap and maybe buy some books and read up on this hobby first, or at least ask a lot of questions here first. It seems to me you really jumped the gun, I would'nt even advise putting freshwater fish in a aqaurium that soon!!!

My condolences on your fish and inverts. Sounds like they were the victim of an uncycled tank. Your gonna have to do some research and hang around this board before attempting to stock your tank again. Unfortunately you took some shortcuts that one should not take when starting a saltwater tank. I'm sorry.

Not to put you down coral, but I bought a 180 gallon tank and it sat in my basement for a year. I found this site and just began asking alot of questions and began doing searches for answers, it just takes time. The SHARKS as well will tell you that they don't know everything, there is so much to learn in this hobby. But first be smart and read-up and learn the foundation and then begin slowly...........

If you follow the rest or coral's threads, his tank was Doomed from the start. He didn't once follow the advice given to him from the members of this board, well except for returning the mushrooms. A Koran Angle shouldn't be put in a 55 gal and anome's should go into well established tanks with proper filtration and adaquet lighting. a 55 gal with just a under gravel filter no ls lr is not going to work for a sw tank. sorry to hear about the poor creatures that you killed with a 1 week old tank.

Coral,
OK, you made some normal major rookie mistakes. Now it is time to step back and get on the right track. Please take these steps to get on the right road to a successful tank. Saltwater is NOTHING like fresh water tanks!!
1 return anything still living to the fish store.
2 if you can afford it, replace the crushed coral with a deep sand bed, and get rid of the undergravel filter.
3 put 1 to 1 1/2 lbs of liverock per gallon of water in your tank.
4 go to the grocery store and buy 2 raw shrimp and throw them into the tank DO NOT PUT ANYTHING ELSE IN THERE, wait 4 days and remove shrimp.
5 go to fish store and buy the following test kits: ammonia, nitrite and nitrate, and some books on saltwater aquariums.
6 do a search on the board for cycle and follow the information you find there.
7 while waiting for tank to cycle, think of fish you want and do research on them to see if they will survive in your tank.
8 after 6-8 weeks if all test readings are 0, add ONE small fish, and a clean up crew
9 WAIT ONE MONTH, add next fish
10 before, during and after each step, read this board and any books you can get your hand on.

Coral,
Sorry to hear about your tank. I know its tough in the beginning, but keep your head up, and try again. (I think everything else that needs to be has already been said).
