they are a pretty easy coral to care for they prefer med light so pretty much anytwhere in ur tank they should be happy. it all depends on what kind of lighting they r used to. they do have stinging tenticles although i have had mine fro quite awhile and it hasnt stung anything yet do just keep that in mind when u are thinking about where to place it. And it helps to feed it a little bit of liquid food it will keep it big and strong.

thank you!!!
i have always wanted a frog spawn..... happened to have the money.... impulse buy
I swore that i would never do it, but the fish store was about 45 mins away and the coral looked relay healthy. $45 bucks too, not too bad i thought for a coral that is so high up on the list with me. The women there didnt own the store so she didnt know much, her husband did But she told me all the stuff that they feed and add. I have trace elements and calcium so that is not a problem. i also have some phyloplanktin and htings to feed.
anything else?

medium to strong lighting, moderate flow. Depending on your lighting place accordingly. As for target feeding, unnecessary as I bought mine with 4 heads and now it is over 35 heads. I dose my tank 1x per week with DTs phytoplankton.

hmmm sk8america says they are easy, another site says they are moderate, and this site says they are hard!! does anyone else have an opinion on their level of difficulty?

I have never gotten mine to "eat" when I target it, but mine is growing too... from 4 heads to 7 in four months... not super fast, but it's healthy and I can tell it is growing, so that is good enough for me!

I also noticed that this site has them listed as hard. i have no idea why,
I find it a easy corals with no ened to spot feed. i do feel that they are light hungry. they dont really need alot of light but if they get it i feel they grow very quickly and the color really comes out. flow is also important. med to high IMO. our is a green with pink tips. we love it. was 4 heads when i got it now its 8

Mine seems to prefer less flow. When I have it in a higher flow area its polyps don't expand much at all. The place it is in now has it swaying as from a light breeze and it has never looked better.

i put mine in the middle of the tank in a hedium flow area. it is right near the output of my filter. It seems to like the spot a lot because the polyps are hanging out and flowing around. awsome looking.
mine is green with 3 polyps. hopefully it will grow some more soon :jumping:

the phyloplankton that i have says to feed every day. my clownfish also eats some, but is it realy necessary to feed every day? Im just wondering.
ags said only once a week. To me taht sounds more resonable. What food are you using Ags?
sorry for all the questions and i know they sound like obvious answers. But this is my first LPS coral and one of the top two or three corals on my list, so i want to make sure that everything goes perfectly

With the exception of DTs I do not feed my corals anything. I feed my fish a variety of stuff but I don't think that is what you are asking. I only dose DTs 1x per week because of information I gathered on this board. That in addition to I was having algae issues that I traced back to too much phytoplanton in my tank. 1x per week is plenty. Use the search funtion and you will find tons of information about DTs and frogspawns. I think I remember it being a coral of the week as well.
As for the difficulty in keeping frogspawn, I have 2 types. The green with pink tip variety and the brownish, kahki colored variety. The brown one is significantly harder to keep for some reason. Very temperamental and a very slow grower. Whereas my green and pink grows like a weed. Like I said before, it has grown exponentially since I bought it and have fragged it several times.
