Evil Emerald Crabs?

My cleaner shrimp recently died and my emeralds ate his remains. I bought another cleaner shrimp and he appears to be missing after one night. Does anyone think that the emerald crabs enjoyed eating my first cleaner so much that they ambushed my new one and ate him?

I have had no trouble with mine. The only time one did anything but eat algea was when he nipped at my anemone. But that was because it was in the way.

Still no sign of my new cleaner. I think he was eaten. Lesson #205 learned and filed away.

those guys sure as he** can be mean,evil,wicked & nasty..... but when small do a great job cleaning....

I have 3 cleaner shrimp and 2 emerald crabs for about a year and have never had any problems.
