Excalibur skimmer

I just purchased a excalibur sv1 in sump skmmer and am haveing a couple problems. When I set up the skimmer in the sump and hooked everthing up the air supply line is dripping out water. I did everthing i was supposed to do but is is not suckng air. I hooked up an air pump from an air stone that i had laying around but i know that is not the right way. Does anyone know why there is water coming out and it is not sucking air.

75 gal tank
pro clear sump with bio balls
95lbs live rock
mushroom rock
finger leather coral
candy cane coral
naso tang
2 green chromis
1 scotter blenny
1 pseudochromis
1 skunk cleaner shrimp
1 coral banded shrimp
2 snails

Did yu use the venturi kit that came with the pump?

Yes i did use the kit but for some reason it didn't work. I did a little adjusting with the air machine and it is working great. I got 1/2 cup out from this morning till 5:00. I'm going to leave it how it is for now.
