They wont break your arm! But fingers and maybe hands!!!!That's my buddy in the pic, not me. But yeah I pulled him out by hand. The gill plate is whats the problem. Their teeth will slice you like a a lot of BAD paper cuts, but the gills have spines. I/we always shove on through the gills to assure a good grip. Here's another pic of one I tied up to a doc after catching him. Just to keep it alive till I could clean it. Yes Sepulation, I wouldn't let such a tremendous fish go to waste by not eating it. Flatheads are the best tasting FW fish if prepared properly.

Quail - which is a VERY big move for me since I'm like the world's pickiest eater! Definitely not good tho. Wasn't prepared very well either tho and I don't really favor dark meats...

I have pretty much have had anything related to the sushi family, other than Fugu (aka puffer)...Elk, Buffalo (love that), rattlesnake, aligator, rabbit, etc. Someone just gave my wife some Elk Filets, cant wait.

i have wanted to try that i love other types of sushi but i wouldnt trust any one down he to clean one up without getting the poison in the meat

ya, you have to be licenced to do it. its so good though, if you ever get the chance to i highly suggest it.
