Does anyone have any personal experience with this fish being reef safe or not? My LFS has one for sale for under $30, and it's very nice looking might I add. However, I have zoos, snails, hermit crabs, tons of tiny feather dusters (that I don't care too much about) and I've read a lot of conflicting info. Some say the definitely are, or they definitely are not. I do know the Heniochus acuminatus, which is closely related to it is not reef safe. Just wondering if anyone has personal experience. Thanks in advance.

Matt819, I had one along time ago when I first started SW fish. I kept it in a 20 tall. It was suprisingly very hard and did really good. I think I had it for about 6 months before it finally died(due to me being new to the hobby.) But still, it did alright. I did do some reading up on them and they aren't reef safe. Although i'm guessing that they are prolly simallar to angels, being that every one has a different attitude and personality towards eating corals. If you do however, decide to get it, make sure that you quarantine it!! Other than that, its a very hardy fish and very cool to sit and watch. HTH

I think it's better to err on the safe side with this hobby, so I'll stay away. Although I do keep a flame angel in my tank with lots of corals and have never had a problem with it at all, contrary to popular belief.
