Any body out there have any experience with the "Prizm Skimmer Deluxe" by Red Sea? Can it be installed in the sump ? The experience can be good or bad. I know its not the best skimmer on the market. I have very little space to work with, and the convience of hooking up is important to me as well as space in my sump.

Hi BrooklynZoo!
I'm no expert; but, I have one and like it! I have mine on a 20 gallon tank though. I've read here that these skimmers are not much good on larger tanks. (I think 75 gallons was considered too big in the post.)
Before investing the money I did on my large, in the sump, skimmers, I was actually thinking of doing the same thing. That some skimming was better than no skimming and that I would have no problem cleaning the cup daily...
Well... I'm glad I did purchase the appropriate skimmers! I clean the cups every Saturday and Saturday comes way too soon for me!!! <smile>
If you still want to use it, I'm sure you can hang the Prism on the sump wall just like you would on the tank. You may need to extend the intake. Most sumps aren't filled to the top like tanks are... And, clean the cup often...
Some here run skimmerless. Maybe turning your sump into a refugium that will grow the specific plants necessary to do this is an option? Or, making a custom sized DIY skimmer to fit your available space. Plans are available here and at GARF. Seems to me that you could adjust the size once you've thought the plan through...?
My $.02 anyway! <smile> Good luck!

Is it the Prizm Pro or the regular Prizm?
I use my Prizm Pro in my sump and it works great.
I have found that these things are easy to adjust once you figure it out. I unscrew the air control knob and take it off. I then put a small piece of filter floss in there to keep the thing from making noise. I then put the knob back on and just barely screw it on. Just enough to catch on the threads. Then I use the flow control knob to slowly bring up the flow until it is making the kind of foam that I want. That's it. Easy enough.
Good Luck.

DvSkin.....
Thanks for the info. I dont plan on going reef. I'am currently using the skimmer that came with the Amiracle set up.. which is garbage. It hardly pulls anything.. even tho I dont have a lot of fish, I plan on getting my live stock up in the near future. Iam concerned with space and price issues... I would prefer a in sump which is roughly 3-4 inches wide.
