I was lucky in finding a psychedelic mandarin that prefers brine. I had to move it into a qt tank due to an ich outbreak. It turns out it loves brine!! I didn't qt the fish originally (ergo ich) , but my question is, most mandarins supposidly live off pods, how do you qt a mandarin without sand? Just for the record I do have over 100 lbs. of LR in my display tank.

put a thin layer of sand in there for him then. or a piece or two of LR for him to pick off of. If he eats brine you should have nowhere near the problem normal mandarins have.

no mine isn't a problem. He eats almost as much brine as my blue hippo. He's a pig! I was just wondering what other people do.
