Experts right or wrong?

The other day I asked one of the wetwebmedia members I believe it was Fenner, Paletta or one of those guys the following question:
Hello, I'am deciding for a new reef tank with 4 watts per
gallon(Power Compact)in a 55 gal long-tank. I would like to keep soft corals, some stony corals, also some sea feathers and want to keep a clam, probably a squamosa or maxima, is this ok, and are there any corals I should avoid with 4 watts per gallon, thanks.
And the answer they told me was:
With that much light you shold be okay with just about every type of coral. Just make sure to place the real light loving corals like the sps near the surface as close to the lights as possible.
Instead of 4 watts per gallon as I mentioned above I will have 4.7 watts per gallon power compact, were these guys right or wrong? Any opions on corals to keep with 4.7 with the ones I mentioned? Thanks.

I wouldn't go near any sps or high light corals. 4.7 in my opinion would be good for soft corals or low light LPS. Any high light coral may "survive" if you place it up high but the coral wouldnt thrive.

wrong- stay away from sps corals- and clams- b/c w/ 4.7 watts/p/g the bottom of the tank wont be getting much- also,.... well if thats whet they told you- the advice in the books they write dosent signify that magnitude of ignorance- you need more light if you are going with hard corals and clams-

well Im not sure if it was fenner because he did not say it was him, but before I ask the question it said that one of the following guys of wetwebmedia will answer your question and within those people fenner was mentioned.
