I brought the poor little guy home yesterday but im not sure he's gonna make it in my tank. He just kinda sits at the top. I know my clarki and my cardinal have been chasing him all my water parimeters are fine. Do they usually tend to stay towards the top and hpw good of swimmers are they??

Mine sometimes hangs out at the top with his dorsal fin partially exposed (like a shark!). They're very good swimmers. I guess you didn't QT him? He's probably a little stressed. I'd leave him alone if he's just acting a little funny, he'll probably find his way.

Any aggression towards him will make him stay close to the sand, they feel safer there. Give it a few days to see for sure.

eggcrate is better than nothing but the type of fairy he has will go right through the eggcrate..i use a mesh top and i have not lost one fairy since going to that
