i bought a golden puffer last wednesday evening.
it was from a wholesale guy i have bought from before.
when i acclimated him his sides were sunk in .
other than that he looked ok.
he never ate and died friday night.
he was in a qt with two other fish which are fine and been in there a week longer.
now ,he offered to replace him at 50%cost plus $40 shipping.
doing simple math the supplier sells another fish
the wholesaler breaks even and i pay again.
what do you think i should tell him?
$350 first fish paid
$110 replace
$40 ship.

[hr]
$500 paid or not yet
$220 first fish wholesaler price
$220 replace
$80 ship both
----
$520
i dont think i want to pay $500 for a fish especially it might happen again

I personally would just tell him to forget it and never order from him again. If this is his policy and you have always been a good customer he should only charge you the shipping of the new fish and if there is a cost difference in the old to the new.

i feel the same way as all of you.
i have bought alot of high dollar stuff from him .
probably over $2000
funnyhow everyone is so good to you untill they need to fix something.
it woiuld be really bad business for him to screw me because once the two fish in the 90 qt are in my 225 i will be setting up the 90 as a dt.
he will lose out on more sales.
i will deal with him by the weekend and let you guys know what he does.
thanks for the input.

If you take his deal I have a lot of deals for you!
He needs to replace the fish at HIS cost and re-ship it at HIS cost as well. I would not pay a dime for a fish that died so fast, well not unless it was due to my mistake.

i agree but i would pay the shipping since all the online stores do their business that way.
i havnt emailed him back yet .
i figure i would let him sweat it out a little.
i will know something by the weekend.
bad business usually is followed by no business.
