fallen live rock

A pice of live rock broke off from the big part. What could this be do to? It is 1.5 inch by 1.5 inch in size.

In my experience, certain types of LR are fairly brittle. Pieces of my rocks have fallen off too.

I had a chunk around that size fall off one time, and there was a muscle in the crater that it came from. It appeared to me that the muscle knocked it out.

Most live rock, due to what it generally is, is very brittle...most nations have outlawed the actual destruction of reefs in order to collect rock for sell...the rock we usually get are pieces in which have been broken off the reefs through natural reasons...storms, etc.
