would one false perc and one chocolate oc do ok together and pair up? or would they battle it out? i figure both are false percs (ocelleris), just different colors, right?
if i could get away with this i could keep my nice orange fish and get one "different" clown.

By "chocolate" do you mean the black & white ocellaris? If so, then yes they pair up just like any other ocellaris clowns - just make sure the new guy is smaller/a juvenile and you should be fine.
I have the exact same combination :)

thats funny, i was just about to start a new thread about this. Thats good that they will pair up.

another question, if i get a false black percula and a regular false percula, what are the chances that they will mate? because i dont really want to have to deal with more fish

You're worried that they'll produce too many fish? Don't worry, if they start spawning the young will only survive if you take some pretty extraordinary efforts to raise them.

i would be willing to take those steps, but what would the offspring look like? black and white or regular? or both?
i love my regular clown, but i love the black and whites too... this will be perfect having BOTH!!! now, if i could only paint up a damsel to look like a maroon gold stripe i'd be set.

I have no personal experience with this, but my understanding is that you'd typically end up with about half one color and half the other.
