false percale and maroon clown

I have a 90 gal reef tank. I have had it well established for 8 yrs. I recently added a carpet anemone that is really doing well, I also have a small rose bubble tip that has gotten smaller and keeps moving around. I have a maroon clown that lives in the BTA and the carpet is far away from it. I want to add a false percula clown, or maybe 2 but I don't want to start a riot. What do you think? My carpet anemone needs a friend?

I wouldn't do it. Maroon clowns are some of the meanest there are and it will without a doubt in my mind beat the cr@p out of a percula clown.

even though the maroon stays way over the other side of the tank in the BTA? The SWF says that the two types of clowns would get along? The maroon is mean to me, I think he has a tooth! Scares the crap out of me every time I get near the BTA. But the carpet anemone is looking lonely?

If you think the maroon is mean to you, think what it will do to another clown. Maroon are very aggressive by nature and that can't be changed.

Where does it say that the two types of clowns will get along? Unless clowns are of the same species, and a mated pair, they will fight 99% of the time. That becomes 100% of the time if you have a maroon clown that has been in the tank prior to trying to add percula clowns. This maroon is a female. Female maroon clowns are some of the most aggressive fish there are, especially to other clowns. You probably couldn't even add a male maroon without her beating on it. Even if the clowns stay in their anemones the majority of the time, they're not going to accept another species, and with maroons, it's really out of the question, you'll have dead fish.

A maroon clown, and a single one will almopst always become a big female, will simply not tolerate any other clowns in the same tank. IMO & IME, this isn't even "maybe", its basic Clownfish 101. Please let us know who said it would work; that is one source I want to avoid at all costs.
