I totally DONT AGREE with daveatstupid! Anemones are very beuatiful, but hard to keep! Even if you have perfect water and the best lights, the anemone can die in a week! All anemones should be left in the ocean where they belong. If you havent had the tank more than 3 years, DONT BUY ONE! I have been through 3 of them and so far, all of them died in a matter of hours. I not even buying those things again! Your percs dont need an anemone. They are fine without one. In the ocean, they NEED one to saty clear of predidtors like eels, shark, ect. Yes, an anemone does make then feel more at home, but you dont need one. They should be left in the ocean+they need very special lighting to keep the symbiotic algea in there tissues alive. High actinic lighting is needed by itself for at least 2 hours a day. Don't listen to pinapple house with buying a plate. Yes, clowns will go in them, but they are just the same thing. Dont listen to that post. I would think everone would agree with this answer i gave. And daveatstupid, you should have discurraged the new person on this BB to not buy one. Yes, i may be only 13 now, but age doednt matter. As long as everyone is knowlegable about this subgect, age doesnt make a difference. And, i wish you luck if you listen yo me about this one.

Here's what i have to say about not buying anemone's... I may only be 17, but i can reason... If its in the petstore, it is subject to little lighting, or they are so wasted away that they WILL eventually DIE, i admit they shouldn't be taken out of the ocean, but they are and if you have an established tank (at least 4-5 months) and HIGH lighting, then they have a better chance in your tank then in the LFS aquariums... not that all LFS do not provide the right lightings for anemones, but MANY do not. I bought anemone when i had my tank up for 2 months, it lived for about six months... which is, as i read, the common life expectancy of the condylactis anemones in the aquarium... this is only because they are not provided the correct needs in the LFS. And at the time I ONLY HAD two 15 watt fluorescent lights on my 55 GALLON... thats not EVEN a watt per gallon... they need at least 3-5 watts per gallon... i will be getting another condylactis anemone to put in my ten gallon... only because i don't trust them in my 55 gallon (ate a cycle molly of mine, when i had the last one) Currently i have 50 watts on my ten gallon...
If you have the sufficent lighting and an established tank and the LFS has one in stock... WHY NOT... but be sure to look for GOOD coloring (the expected coloring) for the anemone you choose, make sure it puts up a "fight" when the dealer pulls it out of the tank... meaning if it is stuck to something and it comes right off, DONt get it, if is suppose to have long tentacles, and it has short ones then don't get it...if you get the bubble tip... make sure it has the BUBBLE TIPS...
Everyone may disagree w/ me, but it is how I feel about the situation...

Also keep it fed with a shrimp piece about the size of its mouth... and CARE FOR IT, don't get one because they are "PRETTY"

I have a bubbletip and it does great! The reason people have bad luck with them is the way they are shipped. The people that collect them out of the ocean put them in one big tank in the warehouse where they are laying on top of each other and stinging each other to death. Then they are shipped to the distributor where they do the same thing to them and don't feed them either.

False percs host with three anenomes, entacmaea quadricolor, heteractis magnifica, and stichodactyla gigantea.Your 15g would be way to small to house any of these. The S. gigantea get 1' in diameter, the H. magnifica get 3' in diameter, and the E. quadricolor get 10" in diameter. If you would get any of these you are going to need a nice size tank.Leave them in the ocean.
