Well I need some fans for my canopy and I went to a electronic store today and they had lots of computer cooling fans. BUT you had to hook them up to a computer to work. I think ive seen some at my LFS but they are like 20 bucks each, the computer fans were like 5 bucks.
Do you use computer fans? i thought ive heard people say they did but im not sure.

Those computer fans you saw will work. What you need to do is get your hands on a power supply for them. Radio Smack sells a "unversal" 12 volt power supply (get one that can supply at least 1 amp or 1000ma). Then just cut the disk-drive style connector off the fan and splice it to the power supply.
Of course, if you are not electronically inclined, this may not be up your alley.
Incidentally, the radio smack adapter is really expensive... $40 or so I think. Jameco (dot com) has a nice one, part number 319919PS that will run at least two fans, and is about $14. They sell fans a whole lot cheaper than even computer stores too.

I am in the same boat. After a lot of research, I’ve decided to go with a SilenX Fan
Specifically: SilenX Ixtrema Pro 120x38mm 18dBA Quiet Computer Fan. It pushes 90cfm at only 18 dBA! It was about $21.

I use 4" icecaps fans. It comes complete with all the fixings. These guys are real quiet and designed for SW use.
