Fantasy tank

I was thinking about what all it would take to make a DIY very large circular shark tank. I am not going to do this anytime soon I just think it is kool to speculate the cost and stuff. Ok I would start out by going out and buying one of those 4 foot deep above ground swimming pools. My only concern there would be chemicals from the liner seeping into the water and messing up the chemistry. For filtration I would get about 50 landscape timbers and build a 6 foot square by 3 feet deep lincoln-log style structure, put pond liner over that to make it hold water, and that would be the sump. You would have to get like a 10,000 GPH return and supply pumps to feed this size tank. Next I would go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy enough of that aquarium-safe kiddie sand to have about a 5 inch sand bed. The most expensive things in my opinion would be the lighting and the live rock. I really don’t know how you would go about setting up the lighting cause I don’t know crap about lighting but I think that would be all you would need (fish would be the other thing) to have a setup this large. The main reason I would want a tank this big would be for large sharks such as; small sand tigers, bonnet heads, and a couple of black tips. I am just speculating so if anyone has any experience or knows anything I don’t please post!!!

Sounds like a sweet setup! I ever have an unlimited budget, I would put the setup in one room, and make viewing windows in the next. That would be awesome.

Oh Yeah, you're an addict.:D If you could find the right curved acrylic you could have a "shark tunnel" like they have at SeaWorld.
