Fast growing brown stuff, ID please?

Can someone please ID this for me? It came on the small piece of rock with a shroom I bought. Im guessing that it choked out the shroom cuz one day I found the shroom floating around the tank... now that the shroom is gone it has spread pretty quickly. Do I need to get rid of it? if so HOW???

Yeah... the small pice is out of the tank but it started going up the other piece which is one of our largest pieces.. If I get it out how do i get rid of it?

Some one told me once that hydrogen peroxide will burn and kill them. Never tried it, but it may be worth a try before tearing your tank apart,

As the replies have indicated, YES you need to get rid of it and it is not easy. You need to start doing something, even today. If you have tweezers, start plucking, then perhaps get a kalk paste and spread it over what is left. And then keep an eye out. They are aggressive, rapid spreaders, and pack one heck of a sting.

You guys arent playing around! Well it doesnt sting me cuz I put my hand on it
So I can try covering with some apoxy? Thing Im gonna give that a shot today..

Don't pluck it out by hand. That's what I did yesterday and one of my fingers is killing me today. I'm trying to ignore it, but it's becoming more than a little irritation.
So blow torch =

Plucking by hand without gloves (and I challenge you to do it successfully WITH gloves O.O)= *thumbs down*
