Feather Duster Death!!!!!!!!!!!

I slept in today, woke up at 10, went downstairs had some cereal, and when I went to go feed my fish I saw my pencil urchin on top of my feather duster with one of its spike through the tube!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I took the rock it was on out of the water(the urchin would not let go) and he finally let go. The feather duster isn't open and there is a pinkredish spot on the tube where it stabbed. Will my feather duster live?

If the tube doesn't become all mushy within a few days, chances are it's still alive. If it threw it's crown, you may not see a new one for a few weeks. I had a pencil urchin that did the same thing to a Haitian Conde. Condy didn't make it. Urchin found new home at lfs.

I have had a few FD's die (don't ask) and the tube never became mushy (even weeks later). Best way to see if it still is alive is to touch the tube, if you feel a jerk the worm is still in there and alive. Leave it be if you feel it jerk.
