feather duster jumped out- can anyone relate?

can anyone relate to this problem?? i woke up this morning to find him under my filter....he jumped out of his exo-skeleton and was a red looking worm with feathers...is this normal??

you might want to try to place it into he substrate...usually will only go to that extreme iether dead/dyiing/stressed though...it might make a come back though...

i've been watching him everyday since ive had him and he is the most active feather duster ive seen ever....last night he kept trying to extend himself then when i woke up there he was out of his shell and under the filter...i kinda put him back into his shell and he crept back in....but what else could it be?? stress??

Not that I'm any help but last night I spotted my hawaiin feather duster worm hanging out half way down the back of it's tube, then this morning it was back in. Never seen any thing like it. I did have one that left it's tube, lost it's crown crawled into a cave and started building a new tube, was going well until something ate it! <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" />

hehe....sounds like mine...all night he was halfway out when i was watching it....seemed kinda wierd then when i saw him this morning i was shocked that he was almost sucked in by my filter....(do you all think i have too much filtration with my emporer 330 in a 10 gallon??)completely out of the tube....they look kinda cute...all red and thorny...has this happened to anyone else??
