feather duster leaving tube

I went to feed my fish and I noticed one of my feather dusters was bent over laying on the sandbed. I'm not sure if he was just hungry or if there is a bigger problem. I just fed him two days ago. I use a plastic syringe and stick it into the tube to feed them. I use micro-vert. Please Help!!! His feather ends seem to be curled a little too.

he goes back into the tube when I went to feed him. Was that a last hurrah on it's part, or could it be trying to build another tube?

Hummm?,
I have never heard of anyone sticking a syring into a tube to feed?
A duster spreads out to collect partickles from the water. This is when you should feed them IMO.
I have had a few get out and surly died. But it may also have shed (molted) it's feathers for new ones?
