Feather Duster Question

Anyone ever seen a feather duster growing on a live snail? I think I have one living in/on the shell of a snail I have. It is definitely alive because it sometimes retracts itself into a small slit on the snail's shell. Will this eventually kill the snail? :notsure:

Yes I have seen that at the LFS ... Pretty cool looking. But anyways, I dont think it will hurt or help the snail. *shrug* .. dont see why it would, unless it is stressful to the snail for carrying more weight around? But I have seen it, and the snail looked fine...

some of my snails have spiroltid (sp) worms on them, those little tiny spiral dusters

Thanks guys. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to burrow all the way through the shell and somehow injure the snail once it got down to its body.
