Feather duster questions

I bought a feather duster 4 days ago and drip acclimated for 2 hours. I placed it through a hole in the live rock. It seemed to be doing well, but has not come out for the last day and a half. Is this normal?
Also Im not sure if this is related or not, but 2 days ago I noticed that it sprayed out a bunch of brownish looking liquid into the water. It did this 2-3 times in the morning. From what I have researched this sounds like it may be attempting to reproduce, but I havent had much luck finding a lot information.
Should I try and re-locate to a different location to see if it emerges? Or leave alone and wait a few more days?

not sure about the brown liquid, but you may want to move it to the substrate, in my experience they prefer to be in the sand, did it discard it's crown? that is usually a sign of stress, anything bothering it?
