feather duster worm question

I am curious, I have been told that for tube anemones you should remove or cut down the tube periodically. Should the excess tube on a feather duster be cut back periodically?

IMO, that is nonsense--I have never heard of that. Let it be. Did your LFS tell you this?

I've never heard of this either. I don't see a reason why the tube should be cut.

Thanks, I was figuring on leaving them alone if I didn't get an answer. Some rocks dropped on one of them and cut the tube off 2x, it grew back just fine, so I know it doesn't hurt them if this happens.
