feather duster worries

Hi, my feather duster has recently thrown its crown. I would like to know if this is normal for dusters to do this? If not what is wrong with my tank that it would be doing this?

Mine has recently done the same thing....I did a round of water tests to make sure there was no change in any of my levels. Dusters throw their crown when they are stressed, so it can come from level changes, temperature changes, harassment or some other unknown reason. It will regrow in time, you just have to wait.

Thanks, the worm is still inside and it came out a bit with this tiny bit of duster on it. I know for a fact that it has been stressed, I had a came back shrimp in there that would not leave it alone. Kept nipping at the duster all the time. I also had some hermit crabs that would latch onto the stem and eat away at it.
Happy to report, shrimp gone :D and hermit crabs gone :D
All should be well now i hope.
