Feather Duster

I bought a feather duster about two weeks ago and placed him on the live rock. He never came out once and eventually died. I went back to the same pet store and told them that he never came out and they gave me a new one right out of the display tank so I knew he would come out. Well he's been in the tank almost a week and still has yet to come out. I even tried putting him in the sand this time to see if that made a difference and also placed him closer to where the filter is bc that's what the pet store guy told me to do. What's wrong with my dusters!!!?? Help!

You really need to post more information. It is impossible to tell you what is wrong without some parameters.
Give us:
age of tank
size
type of filtration if possible
list of inhabitants
lighting (wattage, type)
and of course your water parameters:
ammonia
nitrite
nitrate
alkalinity
salinity/specific gravity
pH
temp
calcium
magnesium
phosphates
and maybe most important: your acclimation process
etc...
the more info you have, the easier it will be for people to point out what may be wrong.
We do not know if it is being bothered by a predator, or you water conditions aren't right...any number of things...hope that helps
