feather duster

Hello,
I just bought a medium size feather duster and a friend of mine told me that it is best to place it on the bootm of the sand. Is it ture? Or is it best to put on the rocks?

It will do equally well either way, on the rocks or in the sand.

do they have a special diet? are they hardy? do you think my well-grown cleaner shrimp will bug it?

They are quite hardy, and nothing in my tank has bothered it...
They are filter feeders, once and a while I use a baster to get some extra phytoplankton (sp) on its feathers....
I have mine on the sand bed...
