Feather duster

We recently added a feather duster to our 29 gal biocube, and weren't sure if we need to feed it anything special or in a certain way? It seems to be doing well for now, but I've read they can easily starve. Thanks for your help!

hi..ill chime in since i love feather dusters. im new at this also..about 3 months. i had bought 2 dusters and in the last months they dist6appeared. one shriveled and one is a stiff empty tube. i almost gave up. then 2 days ago i see a new duster coming out of the rock near where the shriveled one was. i was so happy! and then this morning i see another new one next to it. i verified they were dusters by putting something close and the disappeared in to themselves. im going to leave the stiff tube alone and see if another pops up in the area.
we did start using marine snow feed a few days ago. im hoping it helps them all, even thos we fed other liquid foods.

Can you get a picture? Feather dusters shed the crown when they are starving or if the crown gets damaged, and a new crown grows back in a few weeks but smaller.
I have never seen "baby" feather dusters and I would love to see a picture. I have had tiny feather dusters that live in the live rock, they never get very big like the ones we buy. I had a feather duster cluster once too and they stayed very small.

I'll take a shot where my "baby" dusters have dropped off the rock from overhead.
My LR came completely loaded with baby dusters all over the underside of it. Any dusters that have remained attached to the bottom of the rock have remained small. Any dusters that have dropped off and moved under the light have grown rather large. I do have some "vacated" tubes around the sand bed. They are worms and are mobile.

ok so i bot another feather duster about a week ago..tonite i noticed it was way out of the tube..few mins later more out and then later the worm was on the bottom of the tank! even had the crown still going..in an hour or so it had travelled to the other side of the tank..about 2 feet. it seems to have set it self where it wants to be. what an amazing thing to watch

yes! and now i see 2 more in the same rock. i might have gotten what you got. the worm that travelled the tank may have gotten caught up with the starfish. he may not live. they do grow fast tho. if i could i'd have a tank full of feathers! they are about $15 in this area.
