feather duster

I think my feather duster is dead. :( He hasnt come out for 2 days but i am not sure how do i tell if he is dead?

if you gently touch the tube with your pointer and thumb you should be able to feal the worm inside move.
is it possible he relocated?

yeah it could have also just shed the feathers... i would just leave it alone and see if it comes back out. Chances are it will.

thanks I will wait and see, i think he is still alive because when i moved him i seem some feathers.:p

I am not sure why, but I've seen feather dusters, detach their crown of feathers and grow new ones before.

They do it when stressed. They will hide after that, until new feathers grow.
But, you can still feel it moving inside the tube. You should leave it alone for a while for a few days. Then shake it a little to see if it has gotten rotten. If it died and it’s been in your tank for a few days, you will notice like black-brown ink coming out of the opening of the tube.

Yeah, He came back out and perfectly fine, He must have just been hiding in his tube for some reason thanks everyone.
