i just purchased one last weekend and my lfs guy told me not too much current, and to bury their rear segments in the substrate. Also, you shouldn't have to feed them but some people choose to feed them brine shrimp. So far I haven't fed mine and its doing great.

mine hasnst opened for a day.....so today I moved it and I noticed that when I moved it there was a little worm.......oprange with white little spikes on it...........what could this be?
I dont know where it went

I have several and they are really cool animals. I tried placing them in certain areas, but they found a place they liked better. I feed mine invert gumbo coral food. The only trouble I have had is when they bred (nitrates through the roof) and my yellow tang killed one. That in mind, they are low maintenance and a real neat addition.

im thinking about purchasing a few fetherdusters but i also have a yellow tang, do they always eat them, so far he hasnt touched any anemonies or any poypls or mushroom anemonies.

i add a capful of kent marine micro vert twice a week for my feather dusters and other filter feeders (my gorgo loves it as well). i tried spot feeding them once and it just freaked them out. as for tangs, it's a risk... but trigger fish are a bigger risk :) all depends on the fishes personality...this might be a silly idea (or at least unpopular), but califishdude, if you get a few feather dusters, and your tang attacks them, you could always put them in your refugium if you got one...they're not going to eat your bugs after all...
and travis, you probably had a bristle worm that was happily living near your feather duster, when you moved the feather duster it just freaked the worm...he's probably hiding somewhere else now instead :)
