Moderate current and moderate lighting....someplace where they can be free of disturbances and potential threats. As a rule they are very adaptable and can survive under a broad range of conditions.

roadrunner what is a potential threat to a feather duster?
A strong stream of water flow near a power head or pump that wont allow it to open in full to catch its food. Also watch for the filters suction tube, make sure it dont get sucked in.

I have had this feather duster for about 4 months now and he has stayed on the LR where you see him the whole time...he looks pretty happy there! I haven't tried to bother him so I don't know if he's attached or not, I doubt that he is but again, I don't know for certain....my other feather duster started out on a rock but either he moved himself or my damsel moved him, not sure! Anyway, just wanted to show a pic of my pretty duster :)
