feather dusters

I just got my first feather duster from this site. It is not attached to anything and has a root-like part on the bottom of the tube. Do you plant this in the sand? Or does it attach itself to rock or dig itself into the sand? Please help <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" />

either or, mine are in the sand, on the rock, and even a few on the glass, the only thing, if you put it on the rock, it may have a hard time staying put in any currrent, they are not heavy(maybe the big ones, i have the cluster duster) and may blow around in the water, but they will do good almost anywhere

juststick it in a crevice it will attach itself
