feather dusters

Two days ago the top came off of my feather duster. It was alive for about an hour. I left the tube in the tank. Today when I was cleaning I touch the tube some thing moved in side. Is it alive? Should I take it out? <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" />

yeah it's still alive. They just shed their feathers and grow new ones. Just leave him there you will start to see new feathers grow in a few days

Same thing happened to mine a while back. It took a couple of weeks for the feathers to start to grow back.
They are larger then ever now.

After mine lost its fethers a few days later the worm cam out the tuba and was moving aroung the tank. The next day my cleaner shrimp was draging it around. I guess it died.

I had a featherduster that shed his feathers twice in 6 months before he died. I do not know why he died, it may have been liting conditions

They are not light dependant.
