DT's Phytoplankton. Someone posted a link above to the official site.
Essentially what you're looking for in an LFS (if they have the stuff) is a clear bottle, white label, full of green liquid...hopefully kept in a refridgerator. Dont purchase the stuff if it's not.
It's REALLY small plankton that are suspended throughout the water column. Beneficial to filter feeders. I would recommend turning off pumps/filtration when feeding DT's, though.

For about how long do you wait to turn your equipment back on? when you feed, do you just drip/pour in into the tank, or do you use a droped or baster to release it next to the filter feeder??

bump for you... becase I'm also interested in this..
I almost bought a piece of LR that had a beautiful feather duster on it.. but I didn't but now I'm mad at myself for not getting it.. but who knows maybe its still there.. anyways I didn't buy it because I wasn't sure of the care for them...
do they need perfect water and everything?? and also I have read that phytoplankton really isn't needed for them.. any views?? and lastly ifyou put in phytoplankton does it stay there until the feather duster eats all of it?

DTs Phytoplankton comes in a green liquid form. It's not required to feed a feather duster...I'd consider it more of a supplement. Also, if you have other livestock in your tank that would benefit from phytoplankton you can get supplemental feedings done in one foul swoop.
When I dose DTs phyto, I only use about half a capful. The organisms is phyto are "suspended", and frequent shaking of the bottle (kept in the firdge) is recommended. So because it is in a liquid form I turn off my filters/powerheads when feeding. This allows me to see the green liquid suspended in the water column. I'm not sure if this is entirely necessary, but it allows for more of a "spot feeding". I usually only leave the equipment off for about 10 minutes max.
One of my first additions to the tank was a Hawaiian feather duster. It was doing great without phytoplankton, but now that I have other things in the tank I dose to supplement all the other stuff.
