Feeding a snowflake eel

4 inches?? thats pretty small. Feed him maybe 1-2 small silversides or pieces of shrimp every day - everyother day, and then move it to every other day, then when he is full grown you can do a couple times a week.
Got any pics, I have never seen one so small. Is he eating yet? And what are your tank specs and tankmates? just curious
Also what are you feeding him? Keep it varied and soak it to keep his immune system up as he is young.

i was feeding my 6 inch SFE every other day.. i put a little piece of silverside on a tooth pic and hed grab it right off.... but then he' d go nuts for like the next 20 minutes snapping at everything that moved!!!! i ended up having to bring him back to hte LFS because he was going after everything in my tank at feeding time.
i never had any problems with him till it came time to feeding though, he was docile and calm , he would let my cleaner shrimp nad star fish crawl over him nothing.. lol.. but put a peice of food in there.. it was like night n day...

I will try to post pics of my eel this weekend, but he hides under the rocks. Also I'm supposed to soak the shrimp, please elaborate. I never heard anything like that, but I’m very interested in learning new methods. My tanks specs are listed below.
110 gallons
R300 wet/dry
Tank mates:
Yellow tang and I'm getting a 9' Green Bird Wrasse this weekend.

With my SFE I soak his food in Garlic Extreme or fresh garlicfor a half hour before feeding time.
Also, you might want to consider feeding him at night as they prefer nocturnal feedings. If you have moonlights, you will enjoy him more.
